I began rigging and skinning, starting with placing locators where the joints should go. Following the first year rig tutorials, I started with the legs. This involved placing and positioning joints according to the locators, grouping things appropriately, placing IK handles where necessary, and then making controls and limiting how far the joints can move.
The next step is to rig the spine and then the arms.
